The world is a cruel place
The truth hides within the heart
Boiled blood
Loss of site
Do we really have a voice?
Love is considered a law
Is it so easy to say no to those they love?
Is it so easy to forbid what makes one happy?
I wouldn’t call this world free
We’re being judged by the plenty
Cursed by the greedy
Taken by the needy
Do we really have a voice?
When they have votes against
Gay/lesbian marriage?
Do we really have a voice?
When they put a man who murdered innocent people
Away for only a few years?
Do we really have a voice?
When thousands of kids starve to death a day
When we say we are all as people treated equally?
When aboriginal people get tax cut
Don’t have to pay for school
Do we really live in an equal country?
When we are paying for what our ancestors did?
When we weren’t the only ones with slaves
But they themselves were as well
Was a national apology really needed?
When we do not hold responsibility for the fault of our kind?
Is the world really equal?
Or is it just a game we try to believe is far?
